Zeroconf solution has been added in Switchfin. We have used the Bonjour implementation from Apple Inc.

As you know Switchfin has built in SMTP mail transfer agent (MTA) called SSMTP.
Hawever it is not a trivial task to send e-mail containing attached file from the system without real SMTP client.

Spandsp library was updated to 0.0.6pre17 in the Switchfin trunk. It is a ground for more robust caller id detection and fax termination.

It is now very simple to upgrade your Switchfin firmware (both u-boot and uClinux). The update is working from u-boot and require internet connectivity of course. As soon as you start the procedure your board will check the latest available version of the firmware for your board, will download it using tftp protocol and will save it in the non-volatile memory of your board.

New package for Layer 2 Peer-to-Peer VPN was added in Switchfin. It opens series of new features of an encrypted (twofish based) speech communication. In addition it can simplify the network configuration in case the PBX is behind symmetric or asymmetric NAT. To confirm the basic functionality I have done a simple test. Let me describe it here.

As you probably know we already have built “Hardware based” echo cancellation module based on Zarlink ASIC and we are very satisfied from its performance. The main characteristic of the “Hardware” echo cancellers is that they just work.  I was not felling very well however due to  the fact the algorithm is deeply buried in the silicon :-) After all I have my background in the DSP field.  You probably will recall that a few months ago I have done a study on the open Line Echo Canceller from MIKET DSP Solutions.  Thank you “MIKET DSP Solutions” for providing this code! The results of the cycle true simulation was very promising and we decided to build our own TMS320VC5510A based echo canceller module.  Well the PCB is designed and we are expecting the first prototypes ready very soon. PCB is shown below.Pin headers of this module is compatible with our ISDN PBXs
