Queue Stuff

I am running rev 453 on the IP0x and PR1.
The queue timeout works great but falls out to reorder.

I want to handle the call if it falls out due to timeout.
Example for a queue with a 3 minute timeout:

default structure:
file = extensions_custom.conf
[queues]
exten=6500,1,Queue(${EXTEN}|${DIALOPTIONS}|||180)

modified structure:
[queues]
exten=6500,1,Queue(${EXTEN}|${DIALOPTIONS}|||180)
exten=6500,n,Voicemail(6007,u)

This fixed queue 6500 so it goes to voice mail after a time out.

With the FANTASTIC custom script ability in 453 you can easily do:
[queues]
exten=6500,1,Queue(${EXTEN}|${DIALOPTIONS}|||180)
exten=6500,n,Goto(My_Custom_Script,1)

This allows you to send the call to a script of your choice, easy to modify and only requires a single code change to [queues] to make it work.

Comments welcome.
Thanks.

Re: Queue Stuff

Caution;  further testing has shown me this works great for call handling but is bad for the GUI as it breaks the queue edit for the modified queue.  It does not hurt any other queue but don't do this unless you are willing maintain the queue options of the modified queue manually without help from the GUI.

Sorry for what appears to be good idea gone bad.  :-(

I have this need and will deploy in this manner for now and just add this to my wish list for future revisions.  :-)

Thanks.

Re: Queue Stuff

Hi switchfinreseller

Im currently in an airport in Vienna but will add this to the To-Do list when i get back, the GUI only looks for the one line and thus gets confused, it should be a simple fix to add.

Thanks
Jason

Re: Queue Stuff

Jason,

  Just another thought...  I also add a playback(file) before the queue starts upon answering so if public calls are pointed directly at a queue they do not get answered and just play music.  They answer, play a welcome message and drop to queue music.

  Overall the queuing works great and for small offices your latest change to allow members in the queue rather than agents is fantastic!

Re: Queue Stuff

Yaah, just compiled 633 and see the exit.  Thank you Jason.

This might me me... but after compiling a new image I uploaded the new image using the GUI and it did not show up in /persistent/imageupdate.  It acted like it did and asked me if I wanted to reboot.  I did and it of course did not update.  I used Cyberduck on my Mac to place the file into imageupdate manually and rebooted at the shell.  It updated just fine doing this.

Thanks again for the exit.  I needed this.
